The Top 10 Habits the Pros:
There are habits the successful have. They are easy to
incorporate. Find out what your CURRENCY is and spend time, money and effort
exchanging that value. For example, if your most valuable currency is time,
determine the value of something by what it's costing you in time.
1. Write a daily list of have-to-dos. This will help
map out your day. You will see where you need to invest your time to get to
your desired objective. Invest first in what you can least afford to lose.
2. Practice total preparation. Expect the unexpected.
The best strategy is not to NEED it. The key is reserve: have enough money so
you're not desperate for a job, sale or client. Think several income streams.
3. Picture yourself as a problem-solver and give extra
value. This ensures job security. You want to be the one people seek
out. Although networking is good and who you know is still valuable, being the
person who knows how to get the job done still makes you the most valuable
player.
4. Have goals but write them, speak them and think them
IN THE PRESENT. The subconscious doesn't know the difference between present
and future and will work quicker to manifest these goals if it's already
happening. Don't be thrown by obstacles. They are meant to either strengthen
your commitment or let you know there's another path to take. The Present is
Perfect and all the lessons you're learning will come in handy as your vision
materializes.
5. Stay in the Green. Remember: Strengthen your
strengths and delegate your weaknesses. It's worth the investment in time and
money if it frees you up to do more of what you love and less of what you
don't. This opens the door to more energy and more money!
6. Build relationships. All Business is relationship
business. You are essentially selling yourself and your integrity. Once they
buy that, it's easier to sell them the product or service. It's easier to go
to somebody for a favor when there is already a bond. You need people. No
greatness was ever achieved or maintained without support.
7. Factor in skill enhancement. There will always be
competition. Prepare for it. Even if you're not building skills in your
particular field, continued learning expands the mind, stretches you in
unexpected ways and you will find yourself approaching the familiar with new
eyes.
8. Be Fed Ex fast and Disney Friendly. Business is fast
paced. Deliver your message quick and with a zip. You may only get 2 minutes
with a prospective client, use it. Your first 20 words help them decide if
they want to do business with you. Always start with asking permission,
however, if it's a good time to talk. Getting right into it with a stressed
out prospective client is a complete turn-off.
9. Take into account Buyer's Remorse. Follow up with a
newsletter or something that communicates your intent, support and
credibility. You don't want to be viewed as the used car salesman who can't be
found after the sale!
10. Excitement sells. IF you're not excited, why not?
If not you, why they?
